Tottenham Hotspur’s Destiny Udogie and Leeds United’s Junior Firpo are targets for AC Milan to replace Theo Hernández, according to Monday’s edition of Corriere della Sera.
Leeds United’s 28-year-old defender has less than a month left on his contract. On May 17th, we covered claims from Italy which stated Milan are in the picture to sign him for free this summer.
Four days later, Estadio Deportivo stated the left-back has a renewal offer from Leeds and will make a future decision in the coming weeks. Milan are looking at him and have also added the Tottenham player to their list.
Corriere della Sera state there are ‘no more doubts’ that Hernández’s spell at the San Siro will come to an end soon.
The 27-year-old Frenchman currently earns €4.5m per year and his representative initially asked for €8m. Milan met his agent recently for the renewal and the two parties couldn’t come to an agreement. Therefore, he’s set to leave the Italian club.
Milan have appointed Massimiliano Allegri as their new manager and Igli Tare as their new sporting director. Tare is looking for Hernández’s replacement and has both the Tottenham and Leeds players in his list. Club Brugge’s Maxim De Cuyper is also a target for the Rossoneri.
Due to Junior Firpo’s contract situation at Leeds, Milan can sign him for free. Udogie, on the other hand, should cost around €50m, as said by his agent, Stefano Antonelli, last month. That agent also talked down the possibility of a return to Serie A, so Junior Firpo looks the likelier of the pair.
