The following contains potential spoilers for Solo Leveling Season 3.
Much like Solo Leveling’s protagonist, Sung Jinwoo, the anime has quickly leveled up throughout its first and second seasons to go from a relatively unknown new series to becoming one of the biggest on the planet. Unlike Season 2, though, which was announced immediately with the ending of Solo Leveling’s first season, Solo Leveling Season 3 has yet to be officially confirmed as being in production, let alone having a formal release date. Solo Leveling Season 3 may have very little by way of official confirmations for now, but those who work closely on the series have actually confirmed a number of interesting details about the anime’s next season that fans will certainly want to know.
Even just within the series itself, there are hints as to where the story is going, which are further confirmed by events in Solo Leveling’s season finale. Taking into consideration everything revealed by the anime itself, its creators, and the executives in charge of the series’ production, there are actually quite a few things confirmed about Solo Leveling’s still-mysterious Season 3. There’s still plenty that has been left up in the air, but fans of the series might be surprised to learn that there’s actually much more that has already been confirmed about Solo Leveling Season 3 than most people realize.

A-1 Pictures Will Continue to Work on the Upcoming Season of Solo Leveling
Solo Leveling Season 3’s Future Quality Is All-But-Assured to Remain Consistent With A-1 Returning to Deliver More “Peak” Action
There has never been a doubt whether A-1 Pitcures would continue working on Solo Leveling’s future arcs. In a panel dedicated to Solo Leveling, Aniplex producer Sota Furuhashi made it 100% clear that A-1 Pictures will still be the go-to studio for Solo Leveling’s future seasons. In response to a question about when Solo Leveling Season 3 will come, Furuhashi stated:
“I think that’s the toughest question I’ve had tonight. I think more than anyone, I am anxiously awaiting a Season 3! But in truth, between Season 1 and Season 2, 220,000 frames of animation were created. And of course, I’d love to give the animators a little breathing room. So, if it were up to me, I’d say let’s wait until the next Olympics to see what’s going to happen with a Season 3. But to get to that 220,001st frame of animation, I think that’s up to more up to Kaneko-san and A-1 Pictures.”
– Sota Furuhashi
In stating that it’s “up to Kaneko-san (Animation Producer at A-1 Pictures) and A-1 Pictures”, it’s clear Aniplex appreciates the work A-1 has been doing and is putting the ball in their court. That’s to be expected, as Solo Leveling’s first season won 9 awards at the 2025 Crunchyroll awards, including Best New Anime, Anime of the Year, Best Action and Best Score, to name a few. With Season 2 having been even more popular and constantly breaking records on Crunchyroll, A-1’s continued work on the series only makes sense.

Solo Leveling Season 3 Won’t Follow the Previous Release Schedule of Other Seasons
Solo Leveling’s First 2 Seasons Released Back-to-Back, But Multiple Sources Already Confirmed That Won’t Happen for Season 3
Multiple sources close to the series have confirmed it will be quite some time until viewers get to see Season 3 of Solo Leveling. Sung Jinwoo voice actor Aleks Lee noted that it would be “a while” until Season 3 comes out, while Crunchyroll President Rahul Purini claimed Aniplex was still trying to figure out the right time to start working on Season 3. While these responses offered no real time frame, the only one who gave a bit of a hint at when fans might be able to expect Season 3 was Aniplex Producer Sota Furuhashi.

Jeju Island is NOT Solo Leveling’s Best Arc – That’ll Come in Season 4
Solo Leveling’s Jeju Island Raid took the series’ popularity to a new level, but Jinwoo’s actual best moments won’t happen until Season 4 of the anime
Sota Furuhashi told fans during a Reddit Q&A session that “if it were up to me, I’d say let’s wait until the next Olympics to see what’s going to happen with a Season 3”. This was itself a pretty ambiguous statement, but it’s the most realistic response fans have gotten about when exactly Solo Leveling’s third season could come out. Waiting until the “next Olympics” could either mean the 2028 Olympics, or the 2026 Winter Olympics. This being the case, the earliest fans can possibly expect to see Solo Leveling Season 3 is later in 2026. But even that seems next-to-impossible, because other sources have suggested the anime isn’t even in production yet. It seems far more likely that Season 3 would be coming in 2027 or even 2028, if Furuhashi’s statement about the Olympics can be taken at face value.
Not only does Furuhashi’s statement confirm Solo Leveling Season 3 won’t follow the consistent release schedule of the past two seasons, but it also confirms another detail about Season 3: Aniplex has not even decided when it will start production on the anime. The reason Solo Leveling Season 3 was not confirmed officially upon Season 2’s conclusion like Season 2 was is because Season 3 has likely not even begun developing the anime yet. It would be impossible to give a release date with no work completed by the staff, so it makes sense that Aniplex and Crunchyroll would be hesitant to confirm anything just yet.

Sung Jinwoo English Voice Actor Will Be Returning for Season 3
Solo Leveling’s English Voice for Sung Jinwoo, Aleks Le, Has Personally Divulged Information on Season 3, Confirming His Continued Involvement
If Aleks Le’s recent win for 2025 English Voice Artist of the Year for his role as Sung Jinwoo wasn’t enough to confirm he’ll definitely be sticking around for the series’ future, Aleks Le himself has essentially already confirmed his ongoing involvement. In a post on TikTok, Aleks Le spoke a bit about some of the work he did on Solo Leveling Season 2’s finale. At the end of the video, Le uses the time to briefly address the elephant in the room: Solo Leveling Season 3, which he claims won’t be coming for “a while”. He then told fans he was given the greenlight to offer the official release date for Season 3, only for his big “reveal” to be cut off by the now-infamous ending credits scene for Solo Leveling Season 2.

In an exclusive interview with CBR, Dandadan English Dub actors Aleks Le, Abby Trott and AJ Beckles talk about Season 2 and the upcoming Evil Eye film
Solo Leveling Season 2’s end credits scene has become a popular meme due to how it served as a constant indicator of the series’ latest major cliffhanger in every episode. Le’s joke wasn’t missed on Solo Leveling fans, who understood that it basically just indicated that he couldn’t genuinely offer any concrete information on the series’ future so soon. Nevertheless, Le’s TikTok video did at least inadvertantly reveal one truth regarding Season 3: Le’s own continued involvement the anime.
After all, Aleks Le’s proximity to the franchise, and his knowledge of the fact that Season 3 won’t be coming for some time, all but confirm that he’s the go-to person as Solo Leveling’s unofficial ambassador for its Western audience. That’s to be expected considering he has personally continued to push the anime to new heights based on his performance alone. Aleks Le’s work on subtly changing dialogue and looking to keep the English dub even closer to the manhwa’s version of the story than the Japanese sub is a major reason why he has been so celebrated for this role. While it’ll definitely be “a while” until Season 3 comes out, fans can at least expect that Solo Leveling‘s English dub will remain of high quality with Le reprising his role.

Solo Leveling Season 3 Will Adapt the Double Dungeon Arc
Season 2’s Finale Subtly Confirmed Where Solo Leveling’s Story Is Headed in the Next Season
Manhwa and light novel readers have had a strong grasp on the story to come for each season, because Solo Leveling’s anime has remained very faithful to the source material’s storyline overall. That being the case, it’s pretty much been confirmed from the start that Season 3 would adapt the highly anticipated Double Dungeon Arc, which depicted Sung Jinwoo’s return to the Cartenon Temple to learn the truth of the System. Still, it’s always possible the anime could diverge from the source material without warning. Fortunately, Season 2’s finale subtly confirmed exactly where Solo Leveling Season 3 will be headed, even though it was done in the most secretive way possible.
At 7:59 seconds into Solo Leveling Season 2, Episode 13, after Sung Jinwoo levels up to Level 100, a flash of the System’s notification appears on screen. This subliminal “glitch” lasts only a few frames, providing nowhere near enough time for viewers to actually see what the pop-up window says. If fans pause the screen in that moment, though, they can see that it shows the key which Sung Jinwoo had originally gotten from a reward box has finally been revealed upon Jinwoo reaching level 100. This key turns out to be the Cartenon Key, allowing Sung Jinwoo to return to the Double dungeon and confront the architect of the System.
Speculating beyond what has been officially hinted at in Solo Leveling Season 2’s finale, it’s possible to consider how far into the manhwa Season 3 is likely to go. If the current pacing of the past two seasons continues to stick into the future, Solo Leveling Season 3 will likely almost certainly cover the Recruitment Arc, the Ahjin Guild Arc, the Double Dungeon Arc and the Japan Crisis Arc. From there, it’s possible Season 3 could end with the International Guild Conference Arc, which would lead into the start of Volume 11 of the Solo Leveling manhwa.

Solo Leveling Season 3 Will Focus More on the Supporting Cast
Sung Jinwoo’s Story May Not Be Quite as “Solo” as Before If 1 of the Solo Leveling Producers’ Stataements Is True
Nothing can be definitively said about Solo Leveling Season 3’s release date just yet, but details about the creators’ vision for its production have already been confirmed. In an Ask Me Anything Q&A session on Reddit, Solo Leveling Producer Sota Furuhashi revealed some interesting information about the change of direction Season 3 will reportedly be taking. As Furuhashi put it:
“Since much of the story is told from the protagonist’s point of view, it was a challenge to bring in other characters and sub-characters early on. The focus was very much on Jinwoo’s journey and leveling up, so there weren’t many natural openings to involve others in a meaningful way.
But now that his world is expanding, we’re seeing more opportunities to introduce strong supporting characters who could easily develop their own fanbase. The question becomes: how do we bring them into the core narrative without losing focus? There may be some creative embellishments, but we’re always thinking about how to deepen character development as the story continues.”

Solo Leveling Producer’s New Comments Provide Hope For a Forgotten Manhwa Character in Season 3
Solo Leveling’s anime completely cut a popular manhwa character, but comments from the series’ producer suggest there may be hope for her in Season 3.
Acccording to Furishashi, Solo Leveling Season 3 will have “more opportunities to introduce strong supporting characters” and, in turn, “deepen character development.” This claim is interesting because it actually aligns quite well with the upcoming arcs of Solo Leveling’s story insofar as the light novel and manhwa are concerned. The next few arcs in the manhwa, while still highly focused on Sung Jinwoo, also begin to incorporate other side characters in a similar way to how the Jeju Island Raid focused more on the other S-Ranks before Jinwoo swooped in to save the day.
Given how the anime has already embellished the character arcs of popular heroes like Cha Haein, Go Gunhee and Baek Yoonho in the first two seasons, similar embellishments would make the upcoming arcs even less Jinwoo-centric come Season 3. Interesting characters who take on increased importance in upcoming arcs in the manhwa include the newly arisen Shadow Soldier Beru, Sung Jinwoo’s close friend and assistant Yoo Jinho, and Jinwoo’s core love interest, Cha Haein. Another character who may come to increased prominence in the anime more than he was in the manhwa is Sung Ilhwan, Jinwoo’s father. Ilhwan will be a particular point of focus as the story goes on, so Season 3 would do well to further develop his character in the way Furuhashi suggested.

Solo Leveling Season 3 Will Require “Support From the Fans”
Statements From Solo Leveling’s Producers Caused Confusion at First, But Make Perfect Sense in Hindsight
Solo Leveling’s production staff has made a few highly debated statements following Season 2’s conclusion that have led to uncertainty about the anime’s future. One of the most divisive and questionable came during a Reddit Q&A session with Aniplex producer Sota Furuhashi and A-1 Pictures animation producer Atsushi Kaneko. In it, the pair responded to a Reddit user’s inquiry about when the next season could be coming, to which Kaneko and Furuhashi gave a somewhat concerning response. As they put it:
“Do you know Dragon Ball’s Genki-dam-a (Spirit Bomb)? We need your energy! If we’re going to make a Season 3, it’s going to take all the support and energy from the fans. I learned that from Akira Toriyama himself!”
– Joint Statement By Sota Furuhashi and Atsushi Kaneko
Immediately after this statement was released, fans and media outlets began speculating that perhaps Solo Leveling had still somehow found itself in a precarious position, even despite the unprecedented popularity of Season 2. After all, asking for the “support” of the fans seemed a bit unbelievable, considering fans had supported Solo Leveling more than any other series on Crunchyroll’s platform so far. It consistantly broke records for viewership on the platform, remaining the most talked-about anime by far throughout the entire first half of 2025. It was hard to imagine how much more support fans could’ve given the series, raising questions whether anything could really be enough to warrant a third season for Crunchyroll and Aniplex’s executives.
However, that interpretation of Kaneko and Furuhashi’s statement was proven to have missed the point after subsequent statements from multiple higher-ups at Crunchyroll, including company president Rahul Purini, who personally acknowledged the unbelievable success of Season 2. In hindsight, the Genkai Dama statement from Solo Leveling’s producers was a bit more innocent than it first seemed. It was never about actually getting the anime approved for another season, but rather just about how fan support motivates the creators to do their best with the anime’s production.

Solo Leveling’s Popularity Is a Danger to the Anime Industry
Solo Leveling is popular for a reason, but could it be a threat to the fan-favorite isekai anime genre?
To understand this, it’s worth considering the difference in quality between just Seasons 1 and 2 of Solo Leveling alone. Solo Leveling’s first season was already beautifully made, with incredible animation and production quality at every turn. However, Season 2 upped the ante to a sizable degree, undoubtedly due to the massive support the first season got. If that trend continues, then fan support could equal a greater budget for Season 3 than even Solo Leveling Season 2 got, meaning A-1 Pictures could once again outdo even Season 2’s unparalleled fight sequences. Just as Goku’s Genkai Dama gets stronger, the more people give him their energy, so too could Solo Leveling Season 3 and beyond get better and better the more fans support the franchise.

Solo Leveling Season 3 Is Definitely Coming
Fans Concerned Over Whether Solo Leveling Will Even Get Renewed for a Third Season Have Absolutely Nothing to Worry About
Given the lack of direct confirmation to the anime being in production, let alone a Season 3 release date, it’s understandable that some doomers in the Solo Leveling fandom have expressed concern over whether Season 3 would even come at all. That was a reasonable position to have upon Season 2’s initial conclusion without any further confirmation. Initially, Solo Leveling Producer Atsushi Kaneko claimed in an interview about the series that Solo Leveling Season 3 “may or may not” come out. Later, Crunchyroll President Rahul Purini responded to questions about whether Solo Leveling Season 3 would be coming with tab ambiguous “we hope so.”
These statements all seemed to suggest that the anime’s future may be up in the air. However, there have been multiple confirmations that prove Season 3’s release is no longer a real issue for the Solo Leveling anime. The first direct confirmation that Season 3 would at least be happening, even if it wasn’t for a while, came from Sung Jinwoo English voice actor Aleks Le. In a post on TikTok, Le stated that Season 3 won’t be coming out for “a while”. Still, he did at least suggest that it would be coming out. Doubling down on this recently was a statement made by Mitchel Berger, Crunchyroll’s Head of Theatrical & Distribution. In his own statement about Solo Leveling’s upcoming season, Berger directly confirmed that “it will be here and fans will continue to see the story.”
“We just concluded Season 2, which did really well for us, so I’m sure there will be more content in future. We’re not sure exactly when, but it will be here and fans will continue to see the story.“
– Mitchel Berger, Crunchyroll’s Head of Theatrical & Distribution
This was the most direct confirmation yet that Solo Leveling Season 3 is definitely coming beyond just the “hopes” of the executives and staff at Crunchyroll and Aniplex. While there’s still a lot that fans don’t know about Solo Leveling Season 3, they can at least rest assured that it’s coming. No one knows exactly when it’ll happen yet, but Solo Leveling and Sung Jinwoo will definitely “arise” again.
Solo Leveling Season 1 & 2 are currently streaming on Crunchyroll.
