The Red Sox are slated to welcome the Los Angeles Angels to town on Monday, kickstarting a one-and-done homestand at Fenway Park.
Romy González will be there, too!
González was reinstated from the injured list before the game, with outfielder Nate Eaton being optioned to Triple-A Worcester to clear room on the active roster. Red Sox manager Alex Cora wants to get the right-handed bat into the lineup immediately, batting him fifth and playing him at first base against left-hander Tyler Anderson.
Rob Refsnyder and Abraham Toro will also start, with Wilyer Abreu and Marcelo Mayer heading to the bench. Kristian Campbell was dropped to the bottom of the order, with Trevor Story and Ceddanne Rafaela hitting directly in front of him.
It’s definitely a different-looking lineup from what we’ve previously seen.
