Everton have been provided a brand new update on the race for Caelan-Kole Cadamarteri after David Moyes made a £1.5m bid alongside Manchester City.
A more left-field transfer, but the Toffees believe they can make a club legend out of the young attacker, who has been scoring goals for fun with Sheffield Wednesday’s youth setup.
The 15-year-old scored 24 goals in the U18s Professional Development League, finishing as the competition’s top goalscorer.
His form has caught the eye of several Premier League clubs, including Everton, who have reportedly made a £1.5m bid for him. While it is a steep fee for someone of that age, David Moyes clearly feels like he is worth the money.
Everton are very keen on signing Cadamarteri alongside Manchester City, who have also made an offer for the wonderkid. Now, Cadamarteri’s father and former Everton hero Danny Cadamarteri has shared his preference after news broke about his son.

Danny Cadamarteri wants his son to join Everton over Man City
Danny Cadamarteri came up through the youth ranks at Everton and played professionally for the Toffees between 1996 and 2002, making 93 league appearances.
The forward played for clubs like Bradford City, Leicester and Leeds United before hanging up his boots in 2014.
After so long away, Everton fans could see Cadamarteri return to Merseyside if his son joins the Toffees. Following the news that Everton were interested, Cadamarteri answered a question from a fan asking if he wants to see his son play for his former club.
“I’m only reading the same as you guys,” he said.
“If @Everton want him they need to go get him. Everyone knows I love the toffees, it would be a fairytale story.
“A new era at Everton with a newer and improved era of Cadamarteri taking to the field.
“But he’s an (Owl) till I’m told different.”
Everton have big plans for the summer transfer window
With Everton’s pursuit of Cadamarteri now public, Moyes is under pressure to get a deal done before more parties try to steal a march. Reports have suggested that no deal has been agreed with any club yet, so it is still an open matter.
However, Cadamarteri is not the only player Everton are looking to sign this summer. Moyes has his eye on several stars he thinks can make a difference at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Moyes wants to sign a striker for Everton this summer to give his side more firepower and replace Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who looks set to leave the club after nine years.
Elsewhere, Everton may be forced to replace Jarrad Branthwaite, who is attracting interest from several Premier League clubs, including Chelsea and Tottenham.
With at least £50m to spend, Everton are in a great position to spend this summer, they must do just that.
