Zamalek head coach Ayman El Ramady said that the match against Pyramids in the Egypt Cup final is a big event and a very important clash for the White team.
Zamalek will face Pyramids in the 2024/2025 Egypt Cup final on Thursday, June 5, at 5:30 PM GMT.
The head coach stated in the press conference held before the match:
“Zamalek has reached a good state before the match despite the technical staff taking over the technical responsibility only three weeks and a few days ago. I deeply thank the players for their focus. I have dealt with wonderful players, and frankly, I did not imagine that in a short time they would understand the features of the playing style that I rely on, and this is a very good thing.”
“All I hope for is to be lucky in the upcoming match because this will be a very big step to bring joy to the millions of Zamalek fans. I renew my thanks to the team’s players, especially the senior players like Shikabala, Omar Gaber, and Abdallah El Said, who helped me a lot and I was happy to work with them, and I enjoy working with them and with their ideas.”
The head coach continued:
“I have a very hardworking team, and all that was raised during the past period was a storm in a teacup, because the team includes a distinguished group of players, and I am lucky to work with Zamalek players. The team may need 3 or 4 players at most, and Zamalek has a distinguished squad. I want the players to believe in themselves and play with courage. All I ask from them is to have confidence in themselves.”
“Before I worked at Zamalek, my evaluation for the team’s players was different from mine after working with them, because of what is being said about the team and the squad. But after working with them, I found that they are the elite of players in Egypt, and they are the best and will prove that day after day. There are those who belittle the team’s performance, and they will prove in the match against Pyramids that they are of great competence and can prove in big situations that they are great players.”
“My appreciation for them before working with them is completely different from my appreciation after taking over the team, and after working with them, I learned the true abilities of each player and their technical value. These players were wronged by what was said about them because they are very committed, professional, love the club, and are loyal to it. I worked with them in very harsh conditions, and their true character appeared in every training, and I want them to play freely and with freedom, and any positive result is due to the competence and excellence of the players because they are wonderful players.”
El Ramady spoke about Zamalek entering an early camp before the Pyramids match, saying:
“We preferred to enter a camp so that we could be close to each other and understand each other’s ideas, especially since the training periods are very short, and time is a deadly factor. The camp is very important to us.”
Regarding the injured players, he said:
“If we search on Google for the most asked question to a coach in the history of world and Egyptian football, it would be the question that was asked to me about the injured players in the club. This question was repeated a lot. The problem lies in the readiness of the players returning from injury and their ability to participate in the matches. A player may have recovered from the injury but is not ready technically, and their readiness for the upcoming match will be assessed.”
“I focus on my team regardless of the opponent, and the Cup final is not an easy match. My main focus is on my team. We respect Pyramids and their abilities.”
Ayman El Ramady concluded his statements by saying:
“I hope I am lucky in the match against Pyramids in the presence of large numbers of fans. As I said, the Zamalek fans are the strongest link, and we need them very much in the upcoming match against Pyramids in the Egypt Cup final, and we hope to bring them joy in the match.”
